Bombardier Global 6000: The Complete Buyer's Guide

The Short Version
The Bombardier Global 6000 is the workhorse of Bombardier's ultra-long-range lineup. An evolution of the original Global Express and Global XRS, the Global 6000 flies 6,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 with a wide-body cabin that seats up to 17 passengers. Over 400 Global Express variants were built between 1999 and 2019. Pre-owned Global 6000s now trade between $15M and $32M.

What Makes the Global 6000 Different
1. One of the widest cabins in business aviation
At 8'2", the Global 6000 matches the G700 and Global 7500 in cabin width — wider than the G550 (7'4") and the Falcon 7X (7'8"). Three zones give you club seating, conference/dining, and a private rest area.
2. Massive fleet and deep support
With 400+ Global Express/XRS/6000 aircraft in service, the support infrastructure is extensive. Parts availability, maintenance expertise, and operational data are well established.
3. Value leader in the large-cabin segment
A well-maintained 2015 Global 6000 can be acquired for $20M–$28M. That's G550-level pricing for a wider cabin with comparable range.
Who Is This Aircraft For?
- ●Intercontinental operators flying 3,000–6,000 NM missions: Europe to Middle East, US to Europe, Middle East to East Asia.
- ●Value-conscious large-cabin buyers who want wide-body comfort without the $40M+ price tag.
- ●Corporate flight departments that prioritize dispatch reliability and deep maintenance support.
- ●Charter operators who benefit from the Global 6000's recognized brand and broad passenger appeal.
When It's Not the Right Fit
- ●The Global 6000 gives up 1,000–1,500 NM to the G650ER and Global 7500. If you routinely fly Middle East to US nonstop, you'll find the 6,000 NM range limiting.
- ●The BR710 engines burn more fuel than the Pearl 15 in the newer Global 6500 — if fuel efficiency matters, the 6500 is the smarter buy.

The Pre-Owned Market Right Now
Market research reviewed October 8, 2026. Figures below retain their source dates and measurement basis.
Dated market benchmark, reviewed October 8, 2026: Duncan Aviation's July 2026 guide gives Global 6000 Vref valuations of $19.14M–$61.05M across its listed vintages. This is a model-wide valuation reference, not a reported transaction range or a current seller quote; the upper end for an in-production type can include very new aircraft.
JetsIntel's September 2026 public model list tracks 27 Global 6000 aircraft. This describes its market database coverage, rather than the whole operating fleet or an independently verified count of aircraft available today.
Holstein's latest comparative market snapshot, with model sales dates through August 2026, shows 2.7 months of absorption for the Global 6000. Absorption relates listed supply to the source's measured selling pace and can change as aircraft enter or leave the market.
Holstein's 2.7-month absorption measure is much shorter than the Global 5000's 14 months. Our reading is that the 6000 has the more active supply-demand balance in that snapshot, while the wide valuation span still requires a clear distinction between early and late aircraft.

What to Watch For When Buying
1. BR710 Engine Health and Program Status
The BR710 is reliable but expensive to overhaul. Hot section inspections run $1M+, full overhauls can reach $2M+ per engine. CorporateCare enrollment is strongly preferred.
2. Major Inspection Timing
Significant inspections at 48-month, 96-month, and 144-month intervals. A 96-month typically costs $600K–$1.2M. Negotiate accordingly if approaching.
3. Avionics Generation
Earlier Global Express and XRS aircraft have the older Honeywell Primus 2000 system. Verify ADS-B Out compliance, FANS/CPDLC capability, and datalink requirements.
4. Interior Vintage and Connectivity
A 2013 Global 6000 with original interior will feel dated. Budget $1.5M–$3.5M for a comprehensive interior refresh including modern connectivity.
5. Corrosion and Environmental History
The Global 6000 fuselage uses aluminum-lithium alloys. Corrosion inspection compliance is important — especially for aircraft in humid coastal environments.
Global 6000 vs. The Competition
| Aircraft | Range | Max Speed | Cabin W | Cabin L | Pax | New Price | Pre-Owned |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gulfstream G550 | 6,750 NM | Mach 0.885 | 7'4" | 43'11" | 12–18 | Discontinued (historical) | ~$8M (historical) |
| Bombardier Global 6500 | 6,600 NM | Mach 0.90 | 8'2" | 43'1" | 12–17 | ~$56M (historical) | ~$38M (historical) |
| Dassault Falcon 7X | 5,950 NM | Mach 0.90 | 7'8" | 39'1" | 12–16 | Discontinued (historical) | ~$18M (historical) |
Gulfstream G550
Bombardier Global 6500
Dassault Falcon 7X
vs. Gulfstream G550
Similar cabin length, but the Global 6000 is significantly wider (8'2" vs. 7'4"). The G550 has more range and a deeper pre-owned market. Choice comes down to cabin width vs. range.
See full comparison →vs. Bombardier Global 6500
The direct successor — same cabin, Pearl 15 engines, better fuel efficiency, modern avionics. You'll pay $20M+ more, but the operating cost savings and technology improvements are meaningful.
vs. Dassault Falcon 7X
The Falcon offers tri-engine redundancy and excellent short-field performance, but a narrower, shorter cabin. For European operations with challenging airports, the Falcon wins.

They share the same type certificate. The Global 6000 (2012+) features updated avionics and systems. The XRS (2004–2012) is functionally similar but with older technology.
The Global 6000 has a wider cabin (8'2" vs. 7'4"). The G550 has more range (6,750 NM vs. 6,000 NM) and a longer production run. Both are excellent value propositions.
