What Makes the 400XT Different
1. Williams FJ44-3AP engines change everything
32% more fuel efficient, significantly quieter, FADEC-controlled. Eliminates thrust reversers, reducing weight and maintenance. 40% more range on less fuel.
2. Operating costs that embarrass the competition
~$1,500/hr direct operating costs — well below comparable light jets. Engine TBO is 5,000 hours, maintenance costs 27% lower than original engines.
3. Proven airframe with new everything else
The Beechjet 400A has decades of service data. 88% of the aircraft is new after remanufacture. Mature design reliability with new technology performance.
Who Is This Aircraft For?
- ●Owner-operators and small corporate departments needing 2,003 NM range at the lowest operating costs.
- ●Cost-conscious operators minimizing hourly costs without sacrificing capability.
- ●Buyers wanting new technology on a used aircraft budget.
- ●Charter operators seeking competitive cost structure in the light jet market.
When It's Not the Right Fit
- ●The cabin is comfortable for 4, workable for 6, tight for 8. No standing headroom at 4’9”. Every 400XT started as a Beechjet 400A built 1986–2003 — the engines and systems are new, but the basic fuselage is not.

The Pre-Owned Market Right Now
Market research reviewed October 8, 2026. Figures below retain their source dates and measurement basis.
The October 2026 public search found 400XT asking examples at $1.395M for 2012 SN RK-289 (11,540 hours, updated September 22) and $1.5M for 2011 SN RK28 (6,918 hours, updated October 5). Other offers are price on request. These two offers are a small advertised sample, not the whole market or completed sales.
Our reading: current public offers establish a lower entry point than the old $2M–$3M blanket estimate. The remanufacture year is not the original Beechjet airframe age, and the large spread in total time makes inspection position and the actual transferable engine-program terms important to interpreting the saving.
What to Watch For When Buying
1. Donor Aircraft History
Every 400XT started as a Beechjet 400A. The original airframe’s total cycles, damage, and corrosion history matter. The remanufacture doesn’t replace the basic fuselage.
2. Williams FJ44-3AP Engine Time
5,000-hour TBO makes engine life a critical value driver. Williams TAP Blue enrollment strongly preferred.
3. FADEC System Health
FADEC units are expensive to replace. Verify full system health during pre-purchase.
4. Conversion Quality
Not all conversions are identical. Review Nextant production records and verify all STCs.
5. Cabin Condition
Interiors are now 10+ years old. Refresh costs $100K–$250K.
6. Post-Nextant Support
Now part of Flexjet Technical Services. Verify support accessibility.

Citation CJ3+
Embraer Phenom 300
Learjet 75
vs. Citation CJ3+
Same range and speed at 2.5× the acquisition cost and 10–15% more per hour. The 400XT’s economics are compelling.
vs. Embraer Phenom 300
Wider cabin and stronger brand at 3× the cost and 30%+ higher operating costs.
vs. Learjet 75
Faster with longer cabin, but Bombardier ended production creating orphan risk.
