Dassault Falcon 6X: The Complete Buyer's Guide
Overview

The Short Version

The Dassault Falcon 6X is Dassault's newest large-cabin jet — a twin-engine, fly-by-wire aircraft with the widest cabin in its class at 8 feet 6 inches. It flies 5,500 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 and entered service in 2023. The 6X targets the sweet spot between super-midsize and ultra-long-range. New list price is approximately $53M. Pre-owned examples are just beginning to appear.

Differentiators

What Makes the Falcon 6X Different

1. The widest cabin in its class

At 8'6", the Falcon 6X matches the G650 in cabin width — but in a smaller, more efficient aircraft. It's wider than the G500, Global 5500, and every other aircraft in the 5,000–6,000 NM range category.

2. Fly-by-wire with FalconEye combined vision

Full digital flight controls inherited from Dassault's fighter jet heritage. The FalconEye combined vision system — merging synthetic and enhanced vision on a single HUD — provides operational capability in low-visibility conditions that most competitors can't match.

3. Exceptional short-field performance

Landing distance of 2,260 feet is exceptional for a large-cabin jet. Combined with the fly-by-wire system, the 6X can access a broader range of airports than twin-engine competitors.

Fit

Who Is This Aircraft For?

  • ●Buyers who prioritize cabin width above all in the large-cabin segment — G650-class cabin width without G650-class price and operating costs.
  • ●European and Middle Eastern operators flying 3,000–5,500 NM missions who value airport access and cabin comfort.
  • ●Dassault loyalists upgrading from the Falcon 2000 or 900 series who want a larger cabin without stepping up to the 8X or 10X.
  • ●Operators with challenging airport requirements who need a large cabin combined with short-field capability.

When It's Not the Right Fit

  • ●The 5,500 NM range is competitive but not class-leading. If you need reliable nonstop transatlantic capability in both directions, the Falcon 6X may be marginal against strong headwinds. Also, as a new type (2023), the pre-owned market is virtually nonexistent and long-term residual values are uncertain.

The Pre-Owned Market Right Now

Market research reviewed October 8, 2026. Figures below retain their source dates and measurement basis.

Dated market benchmark, reviewed October 8, 2026: Duncan Aviation's July 2026 guide gives Falcon 6X Vref valuations of $44.11M–$59.4M across its listed vintages. This is a model-wide valuation reference, not a reported transaction range or a current seller quote; the upper end for an in-production type can include very new aircraft.

The 6X occupies a young, high-capital market. Its July valuation band should be used to frame the budget for a specific aircraft or position; it does not by itself establish the depth or discount of the pre-owned market.

Due Diligence

What to Watch For When Buying

1. PW812D Engine Maturity

The PW812D is from the PW800 family but is a new variant. Field experience is limited. Ensure enrollment in Pratt & Whitney's Eagle Service Plan.

2. New Type Considerations

As a 2023 entry-into-service aircraft, expect ongoing service bulletins and refinements. Work with a broker who has access to Dassault's service network intelligence.

3. Cabin Configuration Investment

The 8'6" wide cabin offers extensive configuration options. Factory customization during the order process is strongly recommended — post-delivery modifications on new types are expensive.

4. FalconEye System Training

The FalconEye combined vision system is a differentiating feature, but pilots need specific training and proficiency. Factor this into crew development planning.

vs. Gulfstream G500

The G500 has a slightly longer cabin and faster top speed at a lower price. The Falcon 6X counters with a dramatically wider cabin (8'6" vs. 7'7") and better short-field performance.

vs. Bombardier Global 5500

The Global has more range (5,900 vs. 5,500 NM) and a wide cabin (8'2"). The 6X is even wider (8'6") and offers fly-by-wire precision. A genuine toss-up.

vs. Gulfstream G600

The G600 offers significantly more range and a longer cabin. The 6X counters with cabin width and height. If range matters, the G600 wins.
