Nextant 400XTi: The Complete Buyer's Guide

The Short Version
The Nextant 400XTi is the refined second generation — same Williams FADEC engines and Pro Line 21 avionics, plus a better cabin, raked winglets, and autothrottle. Flies 2,003 NM, burns less fuel than almost anything in its class, and costs $3M–$5M pre-owned. Dollar-for-dollar, possibly the smartest light jet purchase available.

What Makes the 400XTi Different
1. The cabin got bigger where it matters
New composite interior shell adds 3 inches of width at shoulder level and 2.5 inches of headroom. Improved insulation reduces noise significantly.
2. Raked winglets improve efficiency
Distinctive winglets with LED lighting improve aerodynamic efficiency, reduce drag, and contribute to better fuel economy.
3. Autothrottle reduces pilot workload
Saves fuel by optimizing thrust settings and reduces workload during critical phases — a meaningful safety and efficiency improvement.
Who Is This Aircraft For?
- ●Buyers who wanted 400XT refinement — the XTi addresses the cabin weakness while keeping economic advantages.
- ●Owner-operators flying 300–500 hours/year where cost savings compound.
- ●Corporate flight departments with regional missions within 2,003 NM.
- ●Upgrade candidates from CJ series or older Beechjet 400A/XP.
When It's Not the Right Fit
- ●Still a light jet cabin. At ~5’2” wide with the XTi shell, comfortable for 4, workable for 6. If you need a stand-up cabin or regularly fly 6+, step up to midsize. If brand prestige matters, the ‘remanufactured’ story requires explanation.

The Pre-Owned Market Right Now
Market research reviewed October 8, 2026. Figures below retain their source dates and measurement basis.
A concrete October 2026 public reference is 2015 400XTi SN RK-129, offered at $1.995M with 9,723 hours, updated August 13. Controller also shows other XTi aircraft on a price-on-request basis. This priced example should not be treated as a fleet-wide average.
The priced XT examples at $1.395M and $1.5M sit below that XTi offer, but they have different histories and hours. Our reading: the current sample does not establish a fixed $500K–$1M XTi premium or faster resale. Compare the actual airframe, remanufacture specification and maintenance commitments before assigning value to the XTi designation.
What to Watch For When Buying
1. Donor Aircraft History
Same as 400XT — every 400XTi began as a Beechjet 400A or 400XP. The original airframe’s cycles and structural history remain relevant.
2. Williams FJ44-3AP Engine Program
TAP Blue enrollment strongly preferred. At 5,000-hour TBO, engine time remaining is the biggest variable cost driver.
3. Interior Vintage
Early conversions (2014–2016) now have 10+ year interiors. Refresh: $100K–$200K.
4. Winglet Condition
Aerodynamically important and structurally loaded. Inspect for damage, delamination. Verify LED lights work.
5. Avionics Software
Pro Line 21 needs periodic updates. Outdated software = flag for deferred maintenance.
6. Conversion Records
Ensure conversion was by Nextant/Flexjet. Verify all STCs and certification documents.
