Gulfstream G650: The Complete Buyer's Guide

The Short Version
The Gulfstream G650 pairs 7,000 NM of published range with a large intercontinental cabin. Production ended in 2025, so acquisition decisions center on specific pre-owned aircraft. Compare maintenance status, records, engine-program coverage, cabin condition and connectivity. A price range covering the combined G650/G650ER family should not be treated as a valuation for an individual G650.

What Makes the G650 Different
1. Speed that doesn't compromise range
At Mach 0.85, the G650 delivers 7,000 NM — enough for Dubai to New York, London to Tokyo, or São Paulo to Geneva nonstop. Push it to Mach 0.90 and you still get roughly 6,000 NM. Most competitors bleed range far faster at higher cruise speeds.
2. The widest cabin in its class
At 8 feet 6 inches, the G650's cabin is wider than the Global 7500 (8'0") and the Falcon 7X (7'8"). On 12-hour flights, that extra space isn't a luxury stat — it's the difference between arriving rested and arriving wrecked. The cabin altitude of 4,850 ft at FL510 helps too.
3. Fleet depth and support infrastructure
With nearly 600 G650/G650ER aircraft delivered, you're buying into one of the deepest support networks in business aviation. Parts are available. Mechanics know the aircraft. Resale is liquid. This isn't a niche platform — it's the standard.
Who Is This Aircraft For?
- ●Global operators connecting 2–3 continents regularly — the 7,000 NM range covers most intercontinental city pairs.
- ●Owners stepping up from large-cabin jets like the G550, Falcon 900LX, or Legacy 650 who want the next tier of range and cabin comfort.
- ●Value-conscious ultra-long-range buyers — the G650 offers 90% of the G650ER capability at a meaningful discount.
- ●Charter and management operators looking for a proven, liquid platform with strong utilization economics.
When It's Not the Right Fit
- ●If your typical missions are under 2,500 NM, you're paying for range you'll never use. A Gulfstream G500, Challenger 650, or Praetor 600 would serve those missions at significantly lower operating costs.
- ●If you truly need 7,500 NM nonstop capability, spend the extra for the G650ER.

The Pre-Owned Market Right Now
Market research reviewed October 8, 2026. Figures below retain their source dates and measurement basis.
Dated market benchmark, reviewed October 8, 2026: Duncan Aviation's July 2026 guide gives G650 Vref valuations of $27.4M–$47.1M across its listed vintages. This is a model-wide valuation reference, not a reported transaction range or a current seller quote; the upper end for an in-production type can include very new aircraft.
JetsIntel's September 2026 public model list tracks 7 G650 aircraft. This describes its market database coverage, rather than the whole operating fleet or an independently verified count of aircraft available today.
Holstein's latest comparative market snapshot, with model sales dates through August 2026, shows 3 months of absorption for the G650. Absorption relates listed supply to the source's measured selling pace and can change as aircraft enter or leave the market.
GlobalAir's G650-specific page showed no current G650 listings on October 8; its similar-aircraft results include G650ERs and must not be counted as G650 inventory. JetsIntel's separately identified G650 market coverage provides a broader research pool. Our reading: one portal's empty page does not mean the model is unavailable, and ER offers should not be used to set a G650 price without adjustment.

What to Watch For When Buying
1. ER Conversion Status
Some G650s have been modified to ER specification. If the seller is pricing it as an ER, verify the conversion was done by Gulfstream with proper documentation. An aftermarket conversion by a non-OEM facility is a red flag.
2. Inspection Cycle Timing
The 96-month and 144-month inspections are significant cost events — $800K to $2M depending on scope and findings. Know exactly where the aircraft sits in its inspection cycle before you make an offer.
3. Interior Vintage
A 2013 G650 with its original interior will need a refurbishment ($2M–$4M+). The cabin technology has moved on — newer Wi-Fi standards, LED lighting, updated entertainment systems. Factor refurbishment into your total acquisition cost.
4. Rolls-Royce CorporateCare Enrollment
Aircraft on CorporateCare (or equivalent hourly engine programs) are easier to sell and typically command 5–8% price premiums. If the aircraft isn't enrolled, negotiate the enrollment cost or reflect the gap in your offer.
5. Early Serial Number Caution
First-year production aircraft (2012–2013) may have required more service bulletins and modifications. Review the compliance history carefully. Later serial numbers generally have fewer outstanding items.
6. Operating Environment
A G650 based in Dubai that flies primarily to London and New York is a very different proposition from one operating on short hops in humid, coastal environments. Corrosion inspections matter — ask for them.
G650 vs. The Competition
| Aircraft | Range | Max Speed | Cabin W | Cabin L | Pax | New Price | Pre-Owned |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gulfstream G650ER | 7,500 NM | Mach 0.925 | 8'6" | 46'10" | 13–19 | ~$70.5M (historical) | ~$25M (historical) |
| Bombardier Global 6000 | 6,000 NM | Mach 0.89 | 8'2" | 43'1" | 12–17 | ~$62M (discontinued) (historical) | ~$15M (historical) |
| Dassault Falcon 7X | 5,950 NM | Mach 0.90 | 7'8" | 39'1" | 12–16 | ~$54M (historical) | ~$18M (historical) |
Gulfstream G650ER
Bombardier Global 6000
Dassault Falcon 7X
vs. Gulfstream G650ER
Same cabin, same speed, 500 NM more range. If you don't routinely fly the longest routes, the standard G650 saves you $5M–$10M on acquisition for nearly identical capability.
vs. Bombardier Global 6000
The Global offers a competitive cabin but gives up 1,000 NM of range and speed. It's a good aircraft, but the G650 is clearly a tier above in performance. The Global 6000 wins on price accessibility.
vs. Dassault Falcon 7X
The Falcon's tri-engine design gives it excellent short-field performance and steep-approach capability. But the G650 has a wider cabin, more range, and faster cruise. Different missions — the Falcon is a European specialist, the G650 is a global platform.
