Gulfstream G650ER: The Complete Buyer's Guide

The Short Version
The Gulfstream G650ER offers 7,500 NM of published range and seating for up to 19 passengers, depending on configuration. Production ended in 2025. Evaluate factory ER aircraft and converted G650s separately, with attention to modification records, maintenance due and program coverage. Current pricing needs aircraft-specific comparables; historic guide ranges do not establish today’s transaction value.

What Makes the G650ER Different
1. Speed and range together
Most ultra-long-range jets make you choose — fly fast or fly far. The G650ER does both. At Mach 0.85 (its typical cruise), you still get 7,500 NM. Push it to Mach 0.90, and you're looking at roughly 6,400 NM. That's a meaningful difference from competitors that sacrifice range quickly at higher speeds.
2. The cabin
At 8 ft 6 in wide, the G650ER has one of the widest cabins in its class. That translates to real comfort on 14-hour flights — lie-flat beds that are actually flat, a galley that can handle proper catering, and a cabin altitude of 4,850 ft at FL510 (compared to 6,000+ ft on older competitors). Lower cabin altitude means less fatigue.
3. The fleet
With 500+ G650/G650ER aircraft delivered, there's a deep support network. Parts availability, maintenance expertise, and resale liquidity are all strong. You're not buying an orphan.
Who Is This Aircraft For?
- ●Global operations spanning 3+ continents — regularly connecting the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and the Americas without fuel stops.
- ●Productivity-focused travelers — the cabin supports a working environment for teams of 6–8 people with dedicated zones for meetings, rest, and dining.
- ●Principals who value time — over 400 hours of annual flying, the G650ER's cruise speed saves roughly 50–80 flight hours per year compared to slower alternatives.
- ●Owners stepping up from super-mid or large-cabin jets (Challenger 650, Falcon 900, Legacy 650) who need intercontinental nonstop capability.
When It's Not the Right Fit
- ●If most of your flights are under 3 hours or within a single region, the G650ER is significantly more aircraft than you need. The operating costs don't scale down. A super-midsize jet (Praetor 500, Challenger 350) or even a large-cabin alternative (Falcon 2000LXS) could serve you at half the cost.

The Pre-Owned Market Right Now
Market research reviewed October 8, 2026. Figures below retain their source dates and measurement basis.
GlobalAir's October 8, 2026 snapshot shows 11 G650ER listing records, with its price-disclosing offers at $45.95M–$47.9M. Both priced examples are 2016 aircraft: SN 6173 at $45.95M with 2,169 hours, and SN 6188 at $47.9M with 3,323 hours. The narrow range describes those public offers, not every vintage of G650ER.
JetsIntel separately tracks 15 G650ER aircraft in its September market database. Our reading: there is a visible pre-owned buying pool, but most publicly advertised aircraft withhold prices; a narrow published-price sample should not be mistaken for a complete market valuation. This ER-specific evidence is more useful than a mixed G650/ER average.
What to Watch For When Buying
1. Maintenance Status Is Everything
A G650ER due for its 144-month inspection can have $1M–$2M in upcoming maintenance costs baked in. Always evaluate where the aircraft sits in its inspection cycle — and price accordingly. An aircraft with a freshly completed major inspection is worth materially more than one that's 6 months away from one.
2. The ER Modification
Early G650s (2012–2014) can be modified to ER specification. If you're looking at a converted aircraft, verify the modification was performed by Gulfstream and documented properly. A factory-delivered G650ER and a converted G650-to-ER are not the same thing in the resale market.
3. Interior Condition and Refurbishment History
Cabin refurbishments on the G650ER run $2M–$5M+ depending on scope. A 2015 aircraft with its original interior may need significant investment. Factor this into your offer — don't pay "refreshed" prices for an original cabin.
4. Connectivity Upgrades
Buyer expectations have shifted. Starlink, Ka-band (Honeywell JetWave), and modern Wi-Fi are now standard expectations. Retrofitting connectivity can cost $300K–$800K. Check what's installed and what's missing.
5. Engine Program Enrollment
Rolls-Royce CorporateCare (or equivalent) is strongly preferred. Aircraft enrolled in hourly engine programs are easier to sell and command higher prices. If the aircraft isn't enrolled, the cost of enrollment (or the absence of it) should be reflected in the price.
6. Operating History
Private use, low-utilization aircraft generally command a premium over high-time charter aircraft. Review the logbooks for utilization patterns, operating environments (humid coastal vs. dry climate), and any damage history.

Bombardier Global 7500
Dassault Falcon 7X
Gulfstream G700
vs. Bombardier Global 7500
The Global offers a longer cabin and slightly more range, but the G650ER has a wider cross-section and a much deeper pre-owned market. The Global 7500 is newer (deliveries from 2018), so pre-owned pricing is still elevated.

Different class entirely. The 7X is a superb tri-engine design with excellent short-field performance, but it gives up 1,500+ NM of range and cabin width. It's a better fit for European operations with smaller airports.
vs. Gulfstream G700
Gulfstream's own successor. Longer cabin, similar range, newer technology — but limited pre-owned availability and a significantly higher price point. The G650ER remains the value play for equivalent mission capability.

Historical planning estimate; obtain current aircraft-specific pricing. Variable operating costs run approximately $3,400–$4,500 per flight hour, depending on fuel prices and utilization.
The G650ER carries additional fuel, adding approximately 500 NM of range (7,500 vs. 7,000 NM). Some early G650s have been modified to ER specification.
With a landing distance of 3,000 ft, it's capable at many mid-size airports. However, the takeoff distance (6,299 ft at MTOW) limits some shorter runways, especially at high elevations or high temperatures.
Yes, though Gulfstream has shifted focus to the G700 and G800. New G650ER deliveries continue but production is winding down, which supports long-term residual values.
